The Hempstead Bobcats were the 46-39 winner over the Royal Falcons when they last played one another back in November of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Hempstead was the victim of a rough 46-22 loss at the hands of Royal on Saturday. Hempstead just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Nevaeh Houston, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. She set a new season high mark in steals with seven. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Prophet-smith, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Hempstead's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.9 points per game. As for Royal, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Hempstead will be home for the holidays to greet East Bernard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Bernard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hempstead in Texas (East Bernard is ranked 581st, while Hempstead is ranked 1365th). As for Royal, they will square off against Saint Mary's Hall at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Saint Mary's Hall is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.6 points per game.
