East extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 24-1 to the Western Reserve Blue Devils. East lost against Western Reserve in their previous head to head back in April of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 3-1 score last time.
Jamir Allison was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Allison was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Player #5 led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Player #44 was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, one triple, and two RBI.
As for Western Reserve, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Western Reserve, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like East, Western Reserve also got a great game from a two-way player: Jensen Ziegler. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Ziegler has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Western Reserve let Cole Dotson and Hunter Stacy run wild. Dotson got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI, while Stacy got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Dotson has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lucas Freyn, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Looking ahead, East is taking a road trip to challenge Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Western Reserve, they have already played their next contest, a 14-3 defeat against Lowellville on the 20th.
