Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Newark's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Newark lost to Belleville West back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Norsemen had just enough and edged out the Maroons 2-1.

Zoey Carlson paced Newark's offense, picking up eight kills. Carlson got some help from Taylor Jeffers and her 14 assists. Jeffers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Newark has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season. As for Belleville West, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 13-18 record.

Newark wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Prairie Central on the 18th. As for Belleville West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Bradley-Bourbonnais on the 18th.
