The Carlin Railroaders are still winless after their match against the Westwood Lumberjacks on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Carlin fell just short of Westwood by a score of 36-34. Carlin lost against Westwood in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 44-21 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Carlin saw an underclassman step up: Leonidas Krantz dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Krantz continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.
Carlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Westwood, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Carlin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 12:45 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Coral Academy of Science - Reno focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday. As for Westwood, they will take on Sacramento Country Day at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Sacramento Country Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game.
