If the Poudre Community Academy Warriors were feeling good off their 58-25 takedown of the Two Roads Charter School Falcons last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Poudre Community Academy was outmatched by Loveland Classical on the road and fell 90-31. Poudre Community Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.
Despite the loss, Poudre Community Academy still got an impressive performance from Ian Voetelink, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Voetelink is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Poudre Community Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Loveland Classical racked up 17 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loveland Classical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caedon Meyer, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Meyer has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Jorgenson, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Poudre Community Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Loveland Classical, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Poudre Community Academy will take on Vanguard Classical East at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Poudre Community Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 on Thursday. Loveland Classical does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
