The Deep Run Wildcats suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Glen Allen by a score of 52-50. If Deep Run hoped to take revenge for the 70-54 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quentin Morgan, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight blocks. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Nerheim, who scored 15 points.
Deep Run has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Glen Allen, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
Deep Run will head out on the road to take on Hanover at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Hanover is ranked 162nd, while Deep Run is ranked 166th). As for Glen Allen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
