Reedy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 94-61 loss at the hands of Newman Smith. While losing is never fun, Reedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while Newman Smith is ranked 107th).
Jackson Langford put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Chausse, who scored three points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Lone Star had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.8 points), and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. They came out on top against Wakeland by a score of 64-52.
Reedy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Lone Star, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3.
Reedy ended up a good deal behind Lone Star in their previous matchup on January 2nd, losing 75-56. Can Reedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
