The Keenan Raiders were the 53-51 winner over the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Keenan fell 50-43 to Lower Richland on Tuesday.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kristin Brown, who scored 16 points. Brown scored a full 37.2% of Keenan's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Samiyah Hicks was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
Lower Richland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Pa'nanjala Curry out in front who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Curry is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taelor Hiller-Johnson, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
Keenan has fallen quite a ways from their 20-8 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Lower Richland, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Keenan will be playing in front of their home fans against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lancaster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday. As for Lower Richland, they will head out on the road to face off against Eau Claire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eau Claire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
