The deal is close to being finalized, though it is currently a verbal agreement, as the teams try to secure a venue for what projects to be one of the biggest games of the 2011 season.
It will be a home and home deal, as Don Bosco Prep will journey to Southern California in 2012 to visit the Diablos.
The Ironmen are currently ranked No. 7 in the Xcellent 25 while Mission Viejo is No. 9.
Don Bosco Prep and Mission Viejo will lose key stars
Gary Nova and
Tre Madden, respectively. However, both squads will return several key pieces and could start the season nationally ranked.
After defeating Bergen Catholic on Saturday, Don Bosco Prep wrapped up its fifth-straight Non-Public Group 4 title and is riding a 35-game winning streak.
Mission Viejo will take on Servite on Saturday with the Southern Section Pac-5 title, and a likely berth in the CIF State Championship Bowl Game, on the line. The Diablos have won 25 of their last 26 games.
