Baseball Recap: Lincoln Prep Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Lincoln Prep came out on top against San Carlos on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run first inning. The Lightning blew past the Braves 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Lightning, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Platt, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Luce, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lincoln Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for San Carlos, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Prep will challenge Madison Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Heat have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.87 runs per game on average), something the Lightning will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for San Carlos, they will face off against Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
