North Salinas has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Salinas will be strutting in after a victory while Rancho San Juan will be coming in after a loss.
North Salinas scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They strolled past Gonzales with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Shane Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Logan Bayhonan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Rancho San Juan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The matchup between Rancho San Juan and Monte Vista Christian wasn't particularly close, with Rancho San Juan falling 56-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rancho San Juan has scored all season.
North Salinas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Rancho San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
North Salinas came up short against Rancho San Juan when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 67-58. Can North Salinas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
