The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Henderson, who took down 285th ranked West Henderson, 21-20.
East Henderson extended the longest winning streak in 3A/2A WNC this week by beating North Henderson, 63-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
East Henderson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. SETH OWEN threw for 211 and three touchdowns and TYLER SEXTON had 81 yards receiving. On the ground MATT BISHOP chipped in 113 yards. STEFFON HILL helped East Henderson's passing attack out by catching six balls for 58 yards.
Justin Lee made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Knights fell to Brett Chappell's team. The 5-foot-10 defensive end recorded one fumble.
East Henderson's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. OWEN has thrown for 1028 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while HILL has 23 catches for 398 yards. BISHOP leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Eagles take on Brevard. East Henderson's offense has racked up 299 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Blue Devils have allowed only 292 on the year.
A big matchup in 3A/2A WNC this week will be when Franklin takes on Smoky Mountain. As it stands, the Panthers are in second, while the Mustangs are in third.
Smoky Mountain was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. The Mustangs beat the Falcons 21-20 earlier in the week.
