Chinle is 8-2 against Window Rock since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Chinle Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Window Rock Fighting Scouts at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chinle has three straight victories, Window Rock has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Chinle strolled past Alchesay with points to spare, taking the game 61-42. Given Chinle's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Alchesay is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jostaiah Harvey, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davian John, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Window Rock suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Saturday. Their tough 70-50 defeat to Monument Valley might stick with them for a while. Window Rock has not had much luck with Monument Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Chinle's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Window Rock, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-15.
Chinle beat Window Rock 61-49 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chinle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
