Antioch is 2-8 against the Burros since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Antioch Bears will head out on the road to take on the Hillsboro Burros at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Antioch earned a 62-54 victory over the Warriors. Given Antioch's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Warriors are ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 66-55 victory over Cane Ridge.
Antioch has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Antioch took a serious blow against the Burros in their previous matchup back in February of 2021, falling 64-28. Can Antioch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
