Belle is 2-8 against Linn since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Belle Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Linn Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Belle pushed their score all the way to 62 last Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Bloomfield by a score of 64-62.
Meanwhile, Linn's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 63-51 to Cuba.
Despite the loss, Linn had strong showings from Gus Peters, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Noah Hall, who scored 21 points along with five assists. The match was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. Zach Hatfield was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Belle bumped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Linn, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Belle beat Linn 52-43 in their previous meeting back in November. Does Belle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Linn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
