Elk Grove has gone 8-1 against Pleasant Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thundering Herd will welcome the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Elk Grove's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 51-0 victory over Sheldon. The Thundering Herd haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elk Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hudson Hall, who rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns. Hall has become a key player for the Thundering Herd: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Dyer, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove made easy work of Cosumnes Oaks on Friday and carried off a 40-20 victory. The Eagles pushed the score to 40-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolfpack cut but never quite recovered from.
Elk Grove better keep an eye on Hekili Hernandez. He was instrumental in Pleasant Grove's win, rushing for 264 yards and four scores while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Hernandez really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Another rusher making a difference was D.J. Oropeza, who rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pleasant Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 422 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Pleasant Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Myles Houston.
The win got Elk Grove back to even at 4-4. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
