The Castle View Sabercats lost against the Chaparral Wolverines back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Castle View fell 44-32 to Chaparral. Castle View has not had much luck with Chaparral recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Castle View's loss came despite strong showings from Liv Loveland and Scarlett Beerbower. Loveland scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Beerbower scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Chaparral found their leader in underclassman Lauren Thompson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Thompson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Lentell, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Castle View has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Chaparral, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Castle View will head out on the road to face off against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ponderosa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Chaparral, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Chaparral is ranked 25th).
