The Bishop Verot Vikings waltzed into their game Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Out-of-Door Academy, posting a 72-38 win at home. Considering Bishop Verot has won three matches by more than 28 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Bishop Verot was led to victory by Gavin Williams and Leroy Roker. Williams scored 25 points, while Roker dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Bishop Verot's points. Another player making a difference was Jerry Ashley, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Bishop Verot pushed their record up to 3-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Verot will face off against LaBelle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in LaBelle's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Out-of-Door Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Oasis at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Oasis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
