Thomasville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Thomasville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, everything went Thomasville's way against Cairo as Thomasville made off with a 52-27 victory.
Thomasville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedy Hayes, who scored nine points along with nine steals. Those nine steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhaniya Wilson, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Thomas County Central put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 45-34 win over Schley County. Given Thomas County Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Schley County is ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thomasville's record is now 2-4. Thomas County Central's record is now 8-0.
Thomasville was taken down by Thomas County Central 59-32 when the teams last played back in November. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Thomas County Central's Vesha Giddens, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Now that Thomasville knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
