The Logansport Tigers had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took down St. Mary 20-3. For Logansport, this counts as revenge for the 24-8 defeat St. Mary walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Logansport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from D'warr'tez Chatman, who gained 72 total yards and a touchdown. Dakamden Flemon was another key contributor, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Logansport's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Northwood and 3-6 Rosepine (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.4% over those games). As for St. Mary, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.
Logansport will take on Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Logansport is ranked 69th). As for St. Mary, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwood is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
