TEACH's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-49 walloping at the hands of Spirit HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, TEACH can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Spirit HomeSchool is ranked 177th).
TEACH lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nikolas Neuhofer, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten blocks. Neuhofer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Mozingo, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds.
TEACH bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Spirit HomeSchool, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. TEACH will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on StoneBridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spirit HomeSchool, Spirit HomeSchool and Williamsburg Christian Academy will face off on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Williamsburg Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
