The Suffolk Christian Academy Knights can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 53-25 win over Bethel Assembly Christian Academy on the road. The win was just what Suffolk Christian Academy needed coming off of a 64-39 defeat in their prior match.
Suffolk Christian Academy was led to victory by De'Sean Stevenson and Luke Ott. Stevenson scored 19 points along with five assists and four steals, while Ott scored 24 points along with five assists and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ott has scored at least a third of Suffolk Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Grayson Hampton, who scored two points along with 16 rebounds and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from McKinley Conner, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Conner hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.
Bethel Assembly Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Suffolk Christian Academy posted ten assists.
Suffolk Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Suffolk Christian Academy will challenge Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ezra Crowder and Ott. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
