Lilly Halverson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Erykah Juarez, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Christian waltzed into their match last Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 12, 2024.
Torin Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Santa Fe Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Tyszkiewicz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Aspen Lee was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Santa Fe Christian now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Tri-City Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Tri-City Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Santa Fe Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tri-City Christian came up short against Santa Fe Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 4-1. Can Tri-City Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
