Mater Brickell Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 35 points or more this season.
Mater Brickell Academy found their leader in underclassman Kwabena Jones, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cesar Lopez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
The win got Mater Brickell Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Pinecrest Prep, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Mater Brickell Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mater Academy Charter at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Mater Academy Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Pinecrest Prep on the road again on Tuesday and play against Westwood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Westwood Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Pinecrest Prep likes a good challenge.
