Baseball Recap: Maryville Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Maryville's victory against East Buchanan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spoofhounds skirted past the Bulldogs 9-7. The win was nothing new for the Spoofhounds as they're now sitting on three straight.

Grant Diggs tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Canon Creason, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Carson Hageman, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Maryville pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for East Buchanan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maryville will head out to challenge Savannah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Buchanan, they will challenge North Andrew at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
