Branford has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Hamden Green Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Branford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Hamden is ranked eighth).
Last Friday, Branford didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against East Haven, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory.
Meanwhile, Hamden waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Guilford 70-36 on the road. Hamden's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Branford now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hamden, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Branford was dealt a bruising 62-24 loss at the hands of Hamden in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Branford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
