Addison is 0-9 against Napoleon since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will host the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Addison turned things around against Bellevue on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 17-6 win. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Emily Lappan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Lappan was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Edison, who fired off three triples, seven RBI, and two runs while going 5-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Keira Wheaton, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Napoleon waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 13-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly 13 runs.
Napoleon got a massive performance out of Camryn Smilowski, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Hayden Rendall was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Napoleon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive contests.
Addison's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Napoleon, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
