The West St. John Rams lost against the Riverdale Rebels back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. West St. John ended up on the wrong side of a tough 41-21 walloping at the hands of Riverdale. West St. John has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Riverdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mazie Parmley, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Parmley has scored at least 25% of Riverdale's points. Another player making a difference was Maryah Joseph, who scored 11 points along with 6 steals.
West St. John's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Riverdale, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West St. John will take on Abramson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverdale, they will head out on the road to face off against East Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Jefferson's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Riverdale's offense will have their work cut out for Riverdale.
