Baseball Recap: Conant Starts off Right with Win over Streamwood

Conant gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Streamwood Sabres. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Sabres recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Arjun Patel and Alex Martinez did most of the damage at the plate: Patel scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Martinez went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most runs Patel has posted since back in April of 2024. Andrew Lipka was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Conant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Streamwood only posted an OBP of .333.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conant will challenge Addison Trail at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Streamwood, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Leyden at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
