The West Greene Pioneers waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They skirted past Mapletown 47-44. That's another feather in the cap for West Greene, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
West Greene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Burns, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Burns hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Allison, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Greene has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Mapletown, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.
West Greene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-29 victory vs. Bentworth on the 12th. Mapletown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
