Despite the loss, Thomas County Central saw an underclassman step up: Colby Mullinax scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The match was Mullinax's third in a row with at least ten points. Charlie Dunbar IV was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Worth County pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 79-60 fall against Ware County.
Thomas County Central has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Worth County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.
Thomas County Central took their victory against Worth County when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 48-24.
