After flying high against the John Battle Trojans last Tuesday, the Union Bears came back down to earth. Union fell 67-54 to Sullivan East on Wednesday. Union was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sullivan East apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Corbin Laisure continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sullivan East, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Laisure is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cross, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Union dropped their record down to 9-7 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Sullivan East, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Union's road trip will continue as they head out to face Abingdon on January 26th. Abingdon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Sullivan East, Sullivan East and Non Varsity Opponent will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Non Varsity Opponent is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
