It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Snowflake Lobos can now relate to. They fell 31-24 to Mica Mountain on Thursday.
Several Lobos players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jett McCray, who gained 130 total yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Papa, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Mica Mountain can attribute much of their success to Conner Hangarner, who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hangarner's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Snowflake's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Mica Mountain, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Snowflake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mica Mountain will be playing at home against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Northwest Christian is ranked 30th, while Mica Mountain is ranked 31st).
