Green Mountain is 8-2 against Standley Lake since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Gators at 4:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Green Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Dakota Ridge and fell 5-4. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Green Mountain saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simon Lunsford, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Hudson Burke, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Standley Lake). They blew past Wheat Ridge 22-1 on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Gators needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Titus Schrecengost made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Carter Casias was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Henry Moore was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Standley Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Standley Lake's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Green Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-1.
Green Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Standley Lake in their previous meeting on April 7th, winning 3-0. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
