Sparta Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Jackson Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Thursday, Sparta Academy came up short against Snook Christian Academy and fell 57-47.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Colton Phillips, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Sam Cook was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Jackson Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on January 4th after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Wilcox Academy 67-32.
Sparta Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Jackson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Sparta Academy lost to Jackson Academy on the road by a decisive 54-37 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Sparta Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
