Groton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Northwestern Area Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Groton will be strutting in after a victory while Northwestern Area will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, Groton didn't have too much trouble with Great Plains Lutheran at home as they won 57-43.
Meanwhile, Northwestern Area came up short against Leola/Frederick on Thursday and fell 50-38. Northwestern Area has not had much luck with Leola/Frederick recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Groton is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Northwestern Area, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Groton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Northwestern Area when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Groton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
