Basketball Recap: Faith Baptist Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Angel Santiago and Conner Massey

If Faith Baptist Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 45-16 takedown of Crossroads Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders lost 53-33 to the Brunswick Christian Academy Eagles on Friday. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 41-39.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Conner Massey and Angel Santiago. Massey posted nine points and five rebounds, while Santiago put up three points and five steals. With that strong performance, Santiago is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Brunswick Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Pierce Saunders, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Saunders continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Crum, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy will welcome Coastal HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Southside Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
