Hazelwood Central brought a five-game winning streak into their contest against McCluer North last Saturday; they left with a six-game streak. Hazelwood Central were able to grind out a solid victory over McCluer North, winning 20-13.
Meanwhile, Hazelwood West put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Hazelwood East with a sharp 36-12 win. Hazelwood West were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The last time the two teams met, Hazelwood Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Hazelwood West, sneaking past 15-12. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
