The Olympian Eagles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-50 victory over Oceanside. Given Olympian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Oceanside is ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olympian found their leader in underclassman Tristan Anderson, who scored 19 points. Sammell Humphries was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Olympian's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Oceanside, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Olympian and Monte Vista will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oceanside and El Camino will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
