Rocky Mountain extended the longest winning streak in 5A Southern Idaho this week by beating Mountain View, 25-6. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Grizzlies.
Meridian suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after losing to Capital. The Warriors had been ranked 22nd, but fell to 26 following the defeat.
Kion Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as Borah beat Eagle. Williams racked up six receptions for 180 yards. Justin Coburn helped Borah's passing attack out by catching three balls for 24 yards.
Colter Mann made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions defeated the Mustangs. The sophomore racked up 2.0 sacks.
Makena Simis put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles topped Meridian. He finished with 22 completions for 261 yards and six touchdowns. Simis' favorite target this week was Marcell King Jr, who caught seven passes for 141 yards.
Hunter Kenyon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 37 carries, he ran for 157 yards as Borah bested Eagle. Teammate Cole Skinner added to the ground attack by rushing for nine yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback JT Williams of Paul Peterson's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1464. He has also thrown 12 touchdowns. On the ground, Darren Corpus' team's Kenyon has rushed for 805 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Williams. The Borah star has 34 catches for 815 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Boise and Capital. The Braves enters the contest ranked 22nd in the state, while Todd Simis' team ranks ninth.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Mustangs take on Rocky Mountain. Eagle's offense has recorded 239 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Jason Warr's team has permitted only 86 on the year.
The Lions and the Mustangs played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Lions eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Williams ran for three yards in the win.
