After flying high against the Wasco Tigers last Thursday, the Shafter Generals came back down to earth. Shafter received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 66-50 to Chavez. Shafter has not had much luck with Chavez recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Shafter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nathan Bloemhof, who scored eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Cardenas, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Shafter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
Shafter will head out on the road to square off against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Taft is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Chavez, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against McFarland at 6:30 p.m. McFarland is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
