Baseball Recap: Sotomayor Has No Trouble Against Elizabeth

While Sotomayor put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Elizabeth. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by nine runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Sebastian Mejia, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Sotomayor is undefeated when Mejia posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Madrano, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Sotomayor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .458 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Sotomayor's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Elizabeth, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Sotomayor didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-2 win against Torres on the 5th. As for Elizabeth, they have also already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Maywood Academy on the 5th.
