There's no place like home for the Sayre Sabres, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against MAST Charter II by a score of 53-45 on Thursday. This was payback for Sayre, who suffered a 56-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Sayre found their leader in underclassman Zahki Solomon, who scored 24 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Solomon has scored at least 25% of Sayre's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Brown, who scored nine points.
Sayre's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for MAST Charter II, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Sayre will be playing in front of their home fans against Vaux Big Picture at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. MAST Charter II won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Martin Luther King focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Thursday.
