Oxford has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Horn Lake Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Oxford came up short against the Tigers and fell 59-49. While losing is never fun, Oxford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Tigers are ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Horn Lake's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-24 loss at the hands of Hernando.
Oxford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Horn Lake, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-17.
