Carter Jaeger Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Sterling's Carter Jaeger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Jaeger made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We rated that as his best effort of the season, edging out his previous best set last Friday.
The win was the fourth in a row for Sterling, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Jaeger and Sterling will challenge Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Marcello Rossi Dazzles in Weld Central Win
Marcello Rossi continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 126 rushing yards. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Arvada had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Rossi it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Rossi saw the Bulldogs), he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 66 receiving yards.

Jacob Arzberger Turns in Season-Best Performance
The Academy was led to victory by Jacob Arzberger, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Arzberger rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
The victory got The Academy back to even at 3-3. Arzberger and The Academy will head out to face off against Weld Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jace Cornelius Makes It Two for Weld Central
The second Weld Central player making an appearance here is Jace Cornelius, and for good reason. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
For the year, Cornelius has thrown those 3 touchdowns while averaging 56.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to five.
