The North Posey Vikings will challenge the Jasper Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Posey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
North Posey managed to slip by Southridge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings lost 14-3 to the Raiders on Wednesday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
North Posey saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Lindenschmidt, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jasper won against Castle on Saturday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against Evansville Central by a score of 8-4. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won seven in a row.
Brianna Barrix made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Lexi Elkins was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Sophie Werner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Jasper kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Jasper's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for North Posey, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
Everything went North Posey's way against Jasper in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as North Posey made off with a 14-8 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
