Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, River Ridge should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will look to defend their home turf against Zephyrhills at 7:30 PM. Zephyrhills will need to watch out since River Ridge have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
River Ridge put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were fully in charge, breezing past Gulf 62-0. No one put up better numbers for River Ridge than senior D.J. Mann, who brought his A game into the match. He threw 2 TDs and picked up 39 yards on the ground. Mann has now scored at least one touchdown in the past four games.
Meanwhile, Zephyrhills might be getting used to good results now that the squad have six wins in a row. Everything came up roses for them against Anclote as the squad secured a 44-0 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-0.
River Ridge didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 31-35 to Zephyrhills the last time the two teams met. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
