Basketball Recap: Franklinton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Franklinton won against Nash Central last Thursday with 40 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Franklinton Red Rams secured a 40-34 W over the Cary Imps. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Rams who have now won three matches in a row.

Franklinton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meredith Wilkins, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rihanna Hunt, who had nine points.

Franklinton's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cary, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Franklinton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wakefield at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Cary also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Middle Creek at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
