The Cass City Red Hawks put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Caro with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. Given Cass City's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Caro is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Caro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evan Langmaid. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with six blocks. Those six blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Connor McGarry, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Cass City pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Caro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Reese the next time they take the court. Caro will host Reese at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Cass City will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
