Football Recap: Atkinson County Skates Past Central with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atkinson County). They blew past the Central Hawks, posting a 49-6 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Atkinson County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jadarien Davis and Darrian Roberts.

Atkinson County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Central, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atkinson County will take on Southwest Georgia STEM Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will be up against the Aggies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Central, they will challenge Crawford County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season.
